This live webcam feed shows Janet Burchill & Jennifer McCamley’s photovoltaic outdoor sculpture Light from Light at the southern garden of the State Library of Queensland. The structure is illuminated at night using the solar energy it collects during the day. If you’re currently seeing a day-time view, come back again at after 6pm EST to see the geodesic structure and accompanying neon signage lit-up at night. The dome powers off each night at 10pm EST.
The feed currently operates as a series of still images, so this page will be automatically refreshed every 5 seconds.
About the artwork
Light from Light 2010
Self powered geodesic dome
Photovoltaic custom-built panels, acrylic, neon and aluminium frame
Light from Light is a commissioned sculpture that continues Burchill & McCamley’s collaborative oeuvre, recognisably reflected in the use of materials such as acrylic and neon. A series of photovoltaic cells take on the iconic triangulated form of the geodesic dome and provide power for the underlying neon sculpture.

McCamley之间的长期艺术合作,这种合作关系经常体现在她们所取用的材料上,如有机玻璃板及霓虹灯。一系列光电元件以多面穹顶的标志性三角型为排列图案,为下方的霓虹灯装置提供电源。
